Coursim is built to be usable by every student.
Our standard
Coursim targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This is a self-assessment, not a third-party certification: we test every release against the WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria using automated checks (axe-core) across our main pages, plus manual keyboard-only and screen-reader passes on the flows students and teachers use most. We have not engaged an external auditing firm, and we do not currently publish a formal conformance report. Our last internal review was August 2026.
Built-in accommodations
Coursim supports full keyboard navigation, visible focus indicators, text resizing to 200% without loss of content, reduced-motion preferences, and text alternatives for non-decorative images. Colour is never the only way we convey meaning.
Section 508 and VPAT
We build against the Section 508 ICT Refresh requirements, which incorporate WCAG 2.1 AA. We do not yet publish a completed VPAT. If your district or institution needs one for procurement, email request an accommodation and we will work through it with you.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please email a11y@coursim.co. We respond within 2 business days and aim to fix issues within 10 business days.
Known limitations
WCAG-EM asks us to say where we fall short, so: our self-assessment covers the marketing, onboarding, teacher and student-lesson surfaces. Some data-dense teacher analytics views (charts and ranking tables) have not had a full manual screen-reader pass, and complex charts do not yet have complete text-equivalent summaries. Content uploaded by teachers — documents, images and links — is outside our control, so its accessibility depends on the author. We are working through both. If a barrier is blocking you today, email us and we will get you the content another way while we fix it.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is never "done." Every feature is reviewed against our accessibility checklist before release, and automated WCAG checks run against our main pages as part of our test suite so regressions fail the build rather than reaching you.
