How we protect

Coursim is a young, bootstrapped company. We don't have a shelf of enterprise certifications yet – but we have opinions about student data, and we live by them.

How we think

Student data belongs to the student.

We never sell it. We never rent it. We never let ad networks near it. We only keep what we need to run Coursim for your class.

Boundaries we hold

FERPA, COPPA, and GDPR – as minimums.

These are the floor, not the ceiling. We design Coursim as if every student's data was a family member's. Read the specific policies on each sub-page.

How we're built

Founder-led, and accountable.

When something goes wrong you're not routed to a ticketing queue. You reach the founder. That's the entire escalation path right now, and it works.

Practices we follow today

Coursim is a small company being honest with you. These are practices, not audited certifications. When that changes we'll update this page.

Encryption in transit and at rest.TLS 1.2+ for all traffic. AES-256 for data at rest via our cloud provider.

Managed authentication via Clerk.No password hashes on our servers. MFA available. Single Sign-On for schools on request.

Scoped, least-privilege access.Role-based permissions across students, teachers, admins, and superusers. No "god mode."

Zero ads, zero resale.Coursim will never contain advertising. Student data is never sold to third parties. Written into every order form.

No third-party foundation training on your class.We do not hand your students' writing, answers, or voice to any third-party model provider to train on.

Monitoring and incident response.Application logs and uptime monitoring 24/7. Security issues trigger a direct founder escalation. We publish material incidents below.

Public record of anything that affected customer data, service availability, or trust. Kept intentionally honest – empty is not the same as hidden.
